welcome to the reading room

Writing was never part of the plan.

If you had told me years ago that I’d become a writer, I would’ve laughed.

Writing was never part of the plan. Sure, when I was a little girl, I played around with short stories and poems. For a brief moment, I thought, maybe I’ll be a writer one day — but that dream faded quickly. Life moved on, and writing was left behind.

I never thought twice about it until much later. A friend called one day and said, Camille, you need to write a book. I brushed it off. I didn’t see how that could fit into my world. We had just moved to another state, had our 3rd child, and I was starting a new business — you know, the busiest time of life. Writing a book? That was for someone else, not me.

But a few days later, I prayed. And something shifted. I felt a tug in my spirit. I wasn’t ready to write a book, but I knew I had to start somewhere. That’s when I began a blog called The Burning Lamp. I wrote for about a year, pouring my heart into each post. That blog lit the match.

Soon after, prophetic words began to confirm what I already felt deep down: this wasn’t just a good idea; this was a calling. I wasn’t chasing a dream. God was calling me to write.

That’s how my first book, Let Your Pain Speak, came to life. It was born from a desire to help women take their pain and turn it into purpose — to not let suffering have the final say, but to use it for healing, for growth, and for the glory of God.

From there, the journey continued. I didn’t have a set genre or plan. For a while, I thought I’d focus solely on marriage — I even trained as a marriage coach. That led to my second book, Cast Out, which came just two months after the first. But over time, my focus shifted again. My heart turned toward helping people build a deeper relationship with God.

Books like The Joy of His Presence, Unfaithful Hearts, The Heart of a Worshipper, and Fearless came from that place, especially with a heart for women. I've always felt a pull to empower women, to help them unlock their voice, tap into their God-given power, and walk boldly in purpose.

Then came Foolish, my personal testimony. It’s my story of learning obedience, step by step, season by season — following God even when it didn’t make sense. That book is raw, honest, and deeply personal.

After that, my writing shifted again, this time toward wealth and business. My most recent book, Wealth Power, is a reflection of where I am now. Still called, still writing — just in a new lane.

This Reading Room is where I share that journey with you.

It’s not just a place to browse or buy books; it’s an invitation. An invitation to hear my heart, to trace the steps of how God brought me here, and maybe most of all, to remind you that you have a story too.

You may not see yourself as a writer. I didn’t either. But I believe we each carry a story — not just for ourselves, but for someone else who needs it. You may not write it with pen and paper, but your life holds words that matter.

Scripture says, “Let the redeemed of the Lord tell their story” (Psalm 107:2).

So, the question is — are you ready to tell yours?
